The Niagara Olympic Club (NOC) was originally formed in 1994 with the intent of bringing together elite runners in the Niagara Region. We have now redefined our goal to bring together all track and field athletes in the region, not only for the love of the sport, but in order that they may experience the higher level of fitness and competition that commitment, coaching and team spirit always bring.
We are now one of the most prominent clubs in Ontario, the eighth ranked overall track and field club for 2009 Athletics Ontario Indoor track season. Our elite athletes have competed the last two years at the World Junior Track and Field Championships and the World Cross-Country Championships. Athletes of all ages are welcome to join the club, or simply use the track with purchase of a shoe tag.
Athletes can take part in events on a year round basis with two or more practice sessions per week. From December through March, the athletes are involved in indoor track with practices locally and at McMaster University. The track season moves outdoors at the end of March through August. In September, the cross-country season begins and runs until November. Competitions are attended at all levels including National and Provincial Championships, University/High School Meets. Minor Track Association Meets, All-Comers Meets. |
